A NEW GEOMAGNETIC SURVEY OF SWITZERLAND

This publication describes in details the work carried out by the Observatory Cantonal of Neuchâtel between 1972 and 10978, aimed at establishing a new geomagnetic survey of Switzerland. It started with the design and construction of a new vector magnetometer, which facilitated and speeded up the measurements considerably. In comparison with the previous surveys, the density station has increase significantly. Another part of the project was the setting up of a new geomagnetic reference station for Switzerland. The outcome of the work together with the report is 10 maps, which are in annexes.

Chart of the amplitude anomalies: this is often called residual amplitude or residual total intensity (scale 1:250 000).
